Why I am running for State Rep

The current government is ruining the economy with massive spending and borrowing and regulating. I’m running because I want someone in Concord who will vote for less spending, lower taxes, limited government, more freedom. And I want someone who will cut regulations that drive businesses out of New Hampshire.

NH is rated as one of the worst states for business regulations – we rank 46th out of 50 – and we’re one of the worst – 41st – for the high cost of doing business. (Source: http://www.forbes.com/2009/09/23/best-states-for-business-beltway-best-states.html) I heard recently that a company moved out of NH to – of all places -Massachusetts. It’s bad enough that we lose a business (and good jobs). But losing to Taxachusetts is just plain embarrassing.

The way to fix the economy is to get government out of the way. I will work for less spending, lower taxes, limited government, more freedom, and fewer stupid regulations. That is how to encourage businesses to create more good jobs in NH.

We became the greatest country on earth not because we had a benevolent government doing things for us, but because individuals had the freedom to do great things. Free enterprise empowered men such as Thomas Edison, Henry Ford, and the Wright brothers to create whole new industries.

Free enterprise encourages creativity and productivity, and those are what cause prosperity. Look at the 50 states or look at countries around the world: more freedom produces higher incomes, less freedom produces poverty. Sadly, in the latest rankings, the U.S. for the first time ever is rated “mostly free” rather than free.

I want to restore the freedom that made us the greatest country on earth and made New Hampshire the best of the 50 states. I will work to reduce the size and scope and intrusiveness of government.
